Dear Ben,
Got our package the other day but you said you would write and send me my time book, so I though I would wait and answer after I got it.
Thank a lot of the cake cookies nuts and boy the candy sure came in handy, I had my first fold and a bad sore throat so I keep sucking on the candy they are almost as good as cough drops.
I am feeling ok again for three day strait I had my throat swab in the morning. And then at noon also more drops and pills.
I went over saw Verl Gensler yesterday we went to a show he says they will pull out in a few day, he don’t no where. I you see Frank and Zola you can tell them I saw him they send me his address.
Gee Whiz you sure having a time with your mouth bet you will be glad when over with,
Did Ann tell you about my rating. I suppose she did. Boy! The money sure will come in handy. I didn’t get any of it yet I will be pretty darn broke before the 1st of April. Seems like I had quite a few things to get and I had a pair of heels put on my civilian shoes and my blouse ‘coat’ didn’t fit me very good. So I had that fixed cost me $3.65 cents for heels.
Gosh some of your pigs weight a lot don’t they. How much are they per lb now?
Say that sure made you cheap beef and nice and young too.
I figured up my book and that slip from Walter Helle and I made $999.05 so it looks like I will have to pay. I am going to wait til I get a letter from Les Lowe and see if that is any where near right.
I don’t have the money, so I don’t know what to do maybe. I’ll just return it and tell them I don’t have the money or maybe I’ll wait till the first of April. Then send it in I would have the money then by cheating some I think I can get of it for 5.00 other wise it figure out to nearly $18.00 pretty high this year.
By heck soon be time so sow. Oats, eh, time sure is flying. I am in the army 5 months today.
I wish they would break down and giver us a furlough when we are in 6 months.
How is Art? I would like to write to him but it seem I just can’t find time.
So you put my car away for a rest. I am sorta glad it will be in better shape when I get home, I kinda think I will be home some time beginning of 1943. I hope I am right, quite a few seem to think it will be over then.
Well that I can think of so good bye and good luck. Felix.
