Most of the time we argue about States

Dear Ann,

Well, Here goes nothing. I got your Box today. Gee I was surprised to get it. I couldn’t figure out what it could be. I also got a letter from Ray Meyer. that candy will come in handy. I will always take a couple of bars with me when I go on guard duty. I go on duty from eight to twelve midnight. That is all we suppost to do is guard duty for three weeks. on 4 hrs and 12.00 hr off not bad ch althou it dose get tiresome and some shifts like 12.00 midnight to 4:00 AM you get awful sleepy thats were the candy would come in handy to keep one awake.
This guard is better because there is two of us together we usually talk but we already run out of stuff to talk about. ha.
The weather is real nice out today quite warm too.
I still don’t no much of what to write about.
They keep telling us not to talk or write about what we are doing. but  what little we have been doing. I don’t believe the Japs would get any good out of it.
Beside the newspaper keeps talking about everything also the radio. still they want us to keep quiet.

There is a Czech you no – not Bohemian fellow so he says – any how just Czech sleeps next to me. there are quite a few polish, and Slovish they keep talking, polish adn kidding they can almost talk Bohemian, we have lots of fun talking nonsense.

Most of the time we argue about States nearly every body comes from different state. and we all stick like hell to our own state. some time we get into it hot and heavy. But us Michigan boys can’t lose. Ha.

How does Ben look with his teeth out. Funny Ha!
Do you ever see Ruth S. I don’t now how to spell the last name. Do her and Fred get along ok.

I suppose Jimmie is getting pretty big.

Did you go to that show you mentioned?

I have to get a hair cut this afternoon we have to get one every week one of the fellows started cutting hair here in our Barracks, he send home for his clippers so I guess i’ll let him cut my hair he charges 25 cents.

That about all I know. I will ring off. So long Felix. Oh yes, Thanks for this paper I was nearly out.
