Dear Ann;

Will write you a few lines while I am waiting for our freight train to come in with our trucks, we got here yesterday morning about 9:30 Sat all of us trucks drivers were left here to bring the trucks to camp about 14 miles we have to stay some where near we only get 45 min to unload them. There is one train after another coming in.  I think there are some thing like 30 Battalions moving here for the tank destroyer training from what they say.  We will only train here 7 weeks and then I don’t know what it will be another camp or over seas.

We are waiting in Copperas Cove.  A small town about 6 or 7 stores and do the soldiers keep them busy.  Even if every body is broke we didn’t get paid this month, we may get paid the 10th or 15th I hope.

Boy I haven’t been to Camp yet but from what some of the fellows say that have been there say its quite a hole.  We sleep in tents. Spiders are thick and rattle snakes are plentyfull too. and its going to be awful hot here after being used to cool weather like we had in Wash. Yesterday it was about 95 degrees today it seems a little cooler.
Last nite we slept on the ground and on a plat form by the rail road track no blankets just our sun tan outfit we are wearing sun tans know. it was pretty hard but we rested pretty good.

It took us 4 days and four nits to get here about 2500 miles we
went through lot of states I haven’t been throu yet. Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Col, Neb Oh and Texas. that is the way we come, it was a nice trip.
Well they say our train is coming in so I will close
