Dear Ben + All;
Just got through playing a little ball so now I will spend a little time time writing.
How is every thing at home? You must have your wheat cut by now. How was it this year?
I got a letter from Ann, wrote June 26 “I believe!” she said it was terrible hot. Here I use three blankets to cover up with at night.
Every thing is rationed here each one of us have a card we can get only so much a week, three candy bars, two, razor blades, one pack of gum and seven cola’s and cigarettes.
I tried to buy some candy in town, they won’t sell me any because I did not have a card. Most of the farmers are making hay all of it is put in stacks.
Monday I got nine letters yesterday and to day I didn’t get any.
We can take a little news paper 40¢ per month, So four or five of the fellows starting taking it they paid month next month someone else will pay. The name is Stars and Stripes, its a good little paper, at least I can look at the Ball scores they are two day late but that isn’t bad. I haven’t heard how the all star game come out will will fine out tomorrow when the paper comes.
So far I haven’t been gettng any of my papers, I’ll have to see what I have to do to get them. I would at least like to get the Petersburg paper.
Did you get my last letter? The one I wrote I think the 4th. I had a pretty bad cold, its better now, I am glad of that we don’t have to do our own washing. I don’t know what I would hate worse than washing hankercheifs.
I am going to take a shower and go to bed. I am tired to night. So until next time.
Your Brother Felix.
